Marishisonten-do (what a name!) is a small sub-temple built on a corner of the grounds of Kennin-ji. The temple is thus close from Gion and the Miyagawa (宮川町) neighbourhood, so you may sometimes see maikos and geishas here. The temple is dedicated to the boar, and is thus popular for people born on the year of the boar (Chinese zodiac, roughly 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995 and 2007). The temple has cute porcelains of boars sold as votive offerings.
Although not really a tourist destination in itself, you can stop by easily to Marishisonten-do if you visit Kennin-ji. Across the street from this small "boar-temple", a small vintage postcard and photographs shop on the street corner can be worth the 20m detour...
