Honryu-ji (本隆寺) is a large(ish) temple complex in the north-west centre of Kyoto. It has several sub-temples clustered around it but none of them is visitable. In fact, even the main temple buildings are closed with the exception of the main hall. Combined to the lack of other sights in the area this makes Honryu-ji not very attractive for the tourist but you may want to stop here if you're walking by.
