The romanesco brocoli is an amazing veggie that has 5 (and possibly 6) fractal levels, making it the most mathematical green thing in the world. Poor pictures, but I had to try (OTOH the wiki article has a very good pic). The highest magnification was 1.5 (DX crop) x 1 (AFD 105 micro) x 1.5 (PN-11e) x 1.4 (TC-14EII) x 2.0 (TC-20EII) = 6.3! To show the details I did a x2 crop which results in a x12 magnification. Since the sensor has a 24mm size, the small bubbly features you can see are about 0.05mm in diameter!
Note that the taste of this thing is just cauliflower: not that great. But raw with cocktail sauce and olives... Hmmm... External links: Wikipedia Keywords: Japan, 日本, Japon, 茨城, Ibaraki, romanesco brocoli, macro Statistics: id 14, 5 photos. |
