Ichigon-ji (一言寺)

Ichigon-ji (一言寺)

Ichigon-ji (一言寺) is a minor temple south of Higashiyama in the Fushimi district of Kyoto. The temple was built at the turn of the 13th century, between the Heian and Kamakura periods. There's really nothing particular about the place, which may make it an interesting stop if you're looking for a temple that is definitely not made for tourists. But even so some more interesting tourists-free temples exist in Kyoto...
