Hōjū-ji (法住寺)

Hōjū-ji (法住寺)

Hoju-ji (法住寺) is a small temple located just across the street from Sanjusangen-do. While not particularly interesting, it is a good opportunity to show that temple names can be confusing, for there is another temple that is also called Hoju-ji in Kyoto. Their name in Japanese differ, but the pronunciation is almost identical (long or small 'u'). Luckily however this doesn't happen very often, and only for small local temples.
